Το Athens Art Book Fair 2021 μας καλεί να σκεφτούμε σε μικρότερη γεωγραφική κλίμακα και να επαναπροσδιορίσουμε την έννοια του τοπικού. Μετατρέποντας την ανασφάλεια που επικρατεί γύρω από τις διεθνείς μετακινήσεις σε ευκαιρία για ενδοσκόπηση, η φετινή επιμέλεια του AABF εστιάζει σε εκδοτικά εγχειρήματα που δρουν εντός και γύρω από τον ελλαδικό χώρο.
Με σκοπό την ανάδειξη της πολυμορφίας των εκδοτικών πρακτικών το Athens Art Book Fair φέρνει κοντά εγκαθιδρυμένους εκδοτικούς οίκους, small press εγχειρήματα, πειραματικές, DIY εκδόσεις και άλλες ανεξάρτητες πρωτοβουλίες που σχετίζονται με το έντυπο. Οι επισκέπτες θα έχουν τη δυνατότητα να ανακαλύψουν εικαστικά έντυπα, εκδόσεις καλλιτεχνών, περιοδικά ποίησης, φανζίν, φωτογραφικά βιβλία, και πληθώρα άλλων έντυπων καλλιτεχνικών δημιουργιών. Παράλληλα θα πραγματοποιηθεί παρουσίαση του αρχείου φανζίν της Athens Zine Bibliotheque, ενώ το δημόσιο πρόγραμμα θα φιλοξενήσει ομιλίες, παρουσιάσεις και εργαστήρια και θα λάβει χώρα διαδικτυακά στις 6, 7 και 8 Σεπτεμβρίου.

Athens Art Book Fair 2021: The Local Edition invites us to think in a smaller geographic scale and to reassess notions of locality. Turning the insecurity that surrounds international travels into an opportunity for introspection, this year’s edition focuses on publishing practices based in and around Greece.
Aiming to showcase the diversity of publishing practices, the AABF brings together established publishing houses, institutions, small presses and experimental, DIY publication projects. On the 11th and 12th of September visitors will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of printed matter; from artist books, photobooks and zines, to poetry publications, independent magazines and rare editions.
Alongside the fair there will be a presentation of the Athens Zine Bibliotheque archive while the rest of the public program (including lectures, presentations and workshops) will take place online prior to the fair on the 6, 7 and 8 of September.
